Farewell, 2008: I'll Miss You →
I don’t want to flood anyone’s dashboard, so I posted my year in pictures over at my blogspot.
In summary, 2008 personally rocked because of all these things:
- I made my first EP.
- I started playing shows all over NYC.
- I went on the Cayamo Cruise and met Brandi Carlile.
- Allison Weiss built a website for me.
- I went to SXSW, played a show, and fell in love with Austin, TX.

happycap:
Rivers Cuomo covering Don’t Worry Baby with an a cappella group from Dartmouth College, the Dartmouth Aires, on his Stereogum Decomposed session. The video ends a little awkwardly, but at least they seem happy with the performance. It’s a fun version of the classic tune.

shopping is officially done
i braved the mall today to get some last-minute things. overall, i’m pretty happy with what i got this year for other people.
i’m a poor musician, so i don’t have much to spend, but i found some really great deals on etsy.com that i’m really excited about. also have a friend from my old job (at a record label) who has verizon as a client, so i scored my mom a free...
going to bed
so i can stop comparing myself to all the other kick ass musicians out there. anyone else ever been OCD/creepy enough to look at popular musician’s old websites on the wayback machine?
it’s fun, and either uplifting or depressing, depending.
finally home in indy :)
if you’re a novice guitar player/singer, and you’re not positive if you’re really that good or not, you really shouldn’t start playing the middle of a crowded airport full of cranky people who have all just had their flights delayed/cancelled.
when you’re sitting in the airport and you see one famous person, everyone starts to look famous. now i feel like i’m looking at matthew caws from nada surf, but i don’t know him well enough to be able to be 100% that’s who it is.
also, i never try and look good at the airport when i’m traveling. and then i see all these people who DO look good and i regret not...
doh
flight delayed. crap. flight before mine just got cancelled. crossing fingers!!!
I fuck up all the time. If you don’t, you’re not doing things that are hard.

Brooklyn Week 2008: Day Three
Was long. I left at about 9:30 a.m. (that’s early for me). Got home at 8:30 p.m.
Finished Called Your Bluff. Started a new song I haven’t debuted on the interweb yet called “I Don’t Blame You” - we’ll finish it tomorrow. And I’m stoked about it.
although I suppose I should be grateful it exists.
THERE IS NO REASON WHY MYSPACE SHOULD SUCK AS MUCH AS IT DOES.
Heartbeats as percussion
Do we use the authentic sounding one, or something more palatable and musical but more electronic? There are a lot of choices.

daily habits
i’d really like to start a few new daily habits. things to be done every. single. day.
1. meditation. i am not good at this. so far, i don’t even like it. but i’m buying into it.
2. vegetable juice. i bought a juicer and have been pretty good about starting every day with a cup….but it takes a lot of produce to make an 8 oz. cup. i’ll have to investigate how...
